About this deal

Power fluctuating all of the time makes battery testing hard, but we think you’ll get up to 40 minutes of usable battery life, which we found was enough to clean our entire home. Cordless vacuum cleaners are the easiest way to keep your home clean, giving you grab and go portability without having to faff around with plugs. Thanks to recent advances in technology, cordless cleaners now come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, designed to suit all kinds of users and jobs. With the power and battery life on offer, you can even buy models suitable for whole home cleaning, so that you don’t even need a traditional plug-in vacuum cleaner any more. It's also pretty good investment-wise for those who have upright or canister vacuums for their heavy duty cleans, but want something for those midweek sweeps that can sit pretty when not in use. Yep! We've been covering sales at Ideal Home for years now and can confidently say that big-time discounting happens on vacuums during the November sales period. Last year saw discounts from Shark, Dyson, Vax and more, so it's most definitely a good time to save up and spend. What are the different types of cordless vacuum?

Even better, with the Vax Blade 5 you get access to two batteries, which means you should get up to 90 minutes of charge, and you'll never be without your sturdy Vax vac when you need it.The Blade 5 is admittedly a little heavier than its predecessor, but it is brimming with great accessories and comes with a wall mount too, so that storage is straightforward. The vacuum has a stand for storage, with a groove to hold the vacuum handle and charge it when not in use. Charging takes three hours, and Millie found the battery life to be about 45 minutes. Controls work with a thumb trigger, and above this, you'll find the plus and minus buttons you'll need to adjust strength. There's no doubt that our testing process proved that the Shark Stratos is worth the large price tag. Even if you don't have pets, the ease with which this vacuum does away with hair is astounding, and our Ecommerce Editor Molly found that it was unmatched when it came to suction. The Beko Powerclean has a similar design to some of the best Shark vacuum cleaners, with a hinged design for reaching under furniture. It's immensely powerful, too. There are three strength modes, but we found that we hardly needed to use the stronger settings in most settings thanks to the sheer power at play here. It's also got a supremely handy stand to keep things organised in flats or larger homes. Performance is excellent. On Boost, we measured the vacuum at 219AW, making it one of the most powerful vacuum cleaners we’ve tested, and great for very tough spills; on regular automatic mode, suction will be around 118AW, which is a huge amount of power. On test, we found it excelled when cleaning hard floors, thanks to the inclusion of a laser that highlights microscopic dust invisible to the human eye. We were impressed that when used on Auto mode, the vacuum conserves the battery by adjusting the suction power to suit the floor type and the amount of dust automatically. There's also a handy LCD screen that displays the remaining runtime, too. Performance: Focussed on the power and air flow control, plus run and charge time (where applicable).

Aspirato UK

Suction power is good. We measured the cleaner at between 24AW and 122AW, with the maximum a little under the power of the Blade 4; here, the quality of the floor head means that less suction power is required. Weighing in at 3.8kg, it isn’t the lightest cordless we’ve tried. We also found that although great that there's lots of attachments, when it comes to storing you'll need a fair amount of space because on-board storage is pretty limited.

Frequently asked questions.

To keep the price tag low, Shark's vacuums are not as sleek and stylish as Dyson’s, and they're often heavier, too. While they come with useful technology such as the ability to stop hair getting tangled around the brush air, and flexible wands to ensure you can clean in hard-to-reach places, they're not as high-tech as Dyson's offering.Dyson's vacuums tend to have longer-lasting batteries than Shark's models too. Performance is exceptional: clean sweeps in our carpet, edge, pet hair and hard floor tests, all used with the standard Mid setting.
