option does use the view through the camera lens, but you need the RavenEye attachment to transmit this to your phone. It also offers more handling configurations, including a ‘briefcase’ mode where the camera is lower than a regular ‘flashlight’ mode and is handy for low-angle tracking shots. There is a more expensive Combo version which includes the RavenEye image transmitter, a metal (not plastic) tripod grip, a phone holder, a focus motor attachment and a nicer fitted case, but no extra handle. The motors of the RSC 2 are 50% more powerful than those of the Ronin-SC, which is the predecessor of this redesigned gimbal. It's nothing you can't overcome—my biggest problem was accidentally unfolding it backward, so the camera slid into the plate in the wrong orientation.Whenever there is a new firmware version available for update, you will see a prompt on the top of the main interface of the Ronin app, tap "Update Now" and do not turn off the gimbal or exit the app until firmware update is complete. It’s also a great replacement for a Ronin SC, with more versatility and a bigger payload, so if you love your RC but it’s wearing out, the RSC 2 is the obvious replacement.

The included metal mini tripod attaches to a 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom of the grip handle of the RSC 2 to function as a stand or an extension handle for two-handed manoeuvring of the gimbal for certain shots. According to DJI, there’s a newly optimized Titan algorithm which ‘smooths out the fine details’ – and that certainly bears out in practice.The DJI RSC 2 Pro Combo packs additional accessories with the RSC 2 gimbal, allowing for a more comprehensive workflow.
