About this deal

Ocado always has a good selection of Easter eggs, many of which are gluten free. They also have a good selection of dairy free including some more luxurious eggs from the like of Booja booja that you would not find in supermarkets. As usual, M&S remains the place where you’ll find the most unique Easter eggs that can’t be found anywhere else! I've broken this blog post into two sections for ease: Gluten Free Easter Eggsand Gluten and Dairy Free Easter Eggs.

Also, Easter eggs sometimes feature other bits and bobs such as biscuit or wafer pieces which will contain gluten. I was pleasantly surprised with the gluten free easter egg options in Lidl. They actually had quite a lot in comparison to Aldi. One Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate hollow egg with Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Buttons inside the egg. There’s a small Milkybar Easter egg in this post that’s gluten-free. However, many other Milkybar eggs in other sizes are often NOT gluten-free.Most plain chocolate eggs are free from gluten but sadly some have 'may contain' warnings which mean they are not coeliac-safe. If you're not avoiding dairy, many 'normal' Easter eggs are free from gluten-containing ingredients anyway. I've swept the supermarket shelves of Asda, Co-Op, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose to find all the Easter eggs which are gluten free.

All of the Easter Eggs in this section of guide, at the time of writing, are gluten free, dairy free and safe for people with coeliac disease. All of the Easter Eggs in this section of guide, at the time of writing, are gluten free and safe for people with coeliac disease. As always Asda has a good selection of Easter options this year. They have lots of variety in terms of branded Easter Eggs and equally their free from range is definitely one of the better ones. Easter Eggs and chocolates that are dairy free I have labelled DAIRY FREE at the beginning of their caption. I will also place these all into a separate post to make it more clear too.

Morrisons had a good selection of branded Easter eggs but disappointingly most of their own brand Easter eggs this year are may contain or contain gluten. There’s a Cadbury’s Caramel Egg in this post that’s gluten-free. BUT other Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Caramel eggs (which come with a bar and have the extra text ‘Dairy Milk’ on the front) are NOT gluten-free. Recipes can change and vary at the drop of a hat so you should always be on the safe side when trying to find ones that are gluten free. Ahead of Easter Sunday (April 9, 2023) I've got a long list of gluten free, coeliac-safe Easter eggs in UK supermarkets right now.

One Hollow Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate egg, One Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bar 49g, One Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Whole Nut Bar 45g.

Cadbury Mini Eggs Chocolate Egg (Box of 12)

Dairy Fine Mini Eggs Chunky Bar - 225g (a great alternative to the Cadbury's Mini Eggs Bar which is now a 'may contain' for gluten)

Beware of some of the vegan eggs that contain gluten free oat milk. Whilst you might see gluten free oat milk and think they are safe, they in fact are actually ‘may contain gluten’ so are still unsafe. One Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate hollow egg with Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Giant Buttons inside the egg. There are Aero Peppermint Eggs in this post that are gluten-free. But there are other Aero Easter egg variations which are NOT gluten-free. This list is by no means exhaustive but contains most of the major supermarket and named brands I could find on the shelves.
