The Forma ATV One Boot is designed and produced for a wide variety of uses featuring a full grain Nabuk leather upper, Drytex lining and ATV double density grippy sole. They are formed in oiled leather with suede areas and there are concertina sections in the front and the back to allow the foot to move forwards and backwards on the brake and gear pedals. The first time I wore them was for a five-hour cross-country and motorway jaunt and they felt as good at the end as the beginning.

As part of its multifunctionality, the Adventure Low provides Fixed, Drytex waterproofing to keep your feet dry no matter the circumstances. Really well made, good quality leather, but very stiff when you first put them on, I'm having to walk around the house to break them in, loosening up nicely. Over the years I’ve collected a number of boots and while my Alpinestars Supertech R race boots were great on a race bike I needed something a little bit more rugged for use on the GS.

Despite looking chunky, getting them on is easy; the lining is soft and supple and the waterproof gusset has plenty of give to let you slide your feet in easily. I had been touring with a set of Alpinestars SMX-3 boot, and while this was comfortable and easy to live with being a low boot, it was a bit too sporty and have very little in the way of grip on the sole. Conversely, full motocross-specification boots will be excellent for protecting your feet and lower legs but could prove too rigid and unforgiving for road use. Yes the leg protection is reduced, but they still offer more protection and performance than regular touring boots. Just done a ride over to Wales, they stayed comfy all day, dry and feel reassuring firm around the ankle area. And you get some elasticated shirring at the top of the shaft for a bit of extra comfort as you lean into the boot. On top of all this, they handled the odd water splash well and when it came to hopping off the bike to grab a coffee, they were as comfortable on the ground as the bike.
