About this deal

When I was a little older I got a camera for Christmas and became obsessed with photography, and when I was a little older still my friends and I came into possession of a half-broken video camera and began to make our own movies, starring ourselves, using our bedrooms and backyards for sets. It’s a really quick read and just fun all around, even if the original series wasn’t your absolute favorite. With this book, the guidebook provides information to peculiars who’ve just discovered that they are a part of the peculiar world. There was all of the nitty gritty details I love about world building (and had wanted a bit more about in the actual series) in this book, so if you enjoyed the series at least a little bit and are a fan of world building, I’d encourage checking this out.

Covering history, practices, memorable characters and much more, this immersive companion to Ransom Riggs' bestselling Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series is an absolute must-have for passionate fans. I loved the Miss Peregrine's series and often felt that each sequel was like coming back to old friends and while this isn't quite the same, it delved back into that peculiar world and gave us MORE peculiar characters, people, places, et cetera. ovom "vodiču" prethodi šest knjiga iz serijala o gđici peregrini (ja sam tamo davno neke pročitala samo prvu), a i ne trebaš biti poznavatelj priče da bi pustio maštu na pašu i guštao u izvrsnim, bizarnim i začudnim fotografijama, pitao se tko su oni, uistinu, bili, kakvim su životima živjeli i kojim su povodima nastale fotografije. Some of my other favorite parts (though they were brief) were the pages mentioning famous peculiars that include some famous people from the real world, as well as the section that describes why photographs are so important to peculiars. But I loved reading the lore and information about the world simply because I love world building, and the structure of this one made it especially entertaining.

Just be careful looking at anything involving Jacob and his grandfather ahead of reading all the books bc you might read a spoiler. This was not made like other book guides, its written out of miss p's point if view and for godsaken fucks there was so much not mentioned in the books and even more left to imagination. Probably only of interest to fans of the series, it's an entertaining look at the world created by Riggs. it doesn't have a plot or story, but rather explains everything that has to do with the peculiar universe. However, the add-on books (peculiar Tales and this book) that have come out in recent years have been pretty fun. I’d only recommend for diehard fans of the Peculiar Children series, and probably wouldn’t have gone out of my way to read it myself if I hadn’t happened upon it at the library while grabbing the other books.
