About this deal

Lezyne combines the best head- and rear lights and offers them paired. Powerful combinations with the best of both lights bundled. This ensures a great performance, makes choosing a head- ánd rear light easy and saves you money. The offered pairs are always cheaper then buying the LED’s loose. True, Lezyne has gone some way to avoid this with its Race Mode, where you just have two settings, but the setting for the 'dipped' offering always seems to be too low. The CNC machined aluminium body looks quality and makes the light look way more expensive then it actually is. It's available in a range of anodised colours too, so you can achieve a bit of coordination with your bike.

A powerful, multi-purpose front light with up to 1000 lumens of output, the Lite Drive 1000XL features a lightweight yet rugged CNC-machined aluminum body with integrated cooling fins. The light has 8 different output modes, from an attention-grabbing 1000 lumen Daytime Flash setting to an 87 hour runtime Femto Mode, providing options for every riding environment. It’s MOR (Maximum Optical Reflection) lens optimizes and evenly disperses light. A versatile strap securely mounts to a variety of bar shapes and sizes. Flashing-wise, there is a DayFlash which pumps out the full 1,000lm for 7.5hrs, which grabs plenty of attention when riding in the sunshine or filtering during daylight, though it is way too antisocial to use during darkness. It's a good job it lasts so long, because when it came to charging, this is where I found my first issue: the charge port for the micro-USB cable is narrow, deep and fiddly, leaving you rummaging around inside to get the pin to connect. Most mini-USB chargers won't fit because the plastic body behind the charge pin will be too wide to for the Macro 1100's port, so you need to use the one supplied. The Lezyne Lite Drive 1000XL is a front bicycle lamp made of premium aluminium housing material. It uses highly efficient LED bulb type for maximum luminous flux of 1000 lm, providing excellent visibility during day or night cycling. The lamp comes with a long-lasting rechargeable battery that can last up to a maximum of 87 hours, and it requires only four hours to fully recharge via USB charging. For me personally, I wouldn't choose any light that scrolls through flashing as it just annoys me, but I certainly can't fault its quality and beam for the money. Verdict At a steady output of 20 lumens it will last up to four hours, while in the 10-lumen flash option it lasted 25 hours.

A powerful, multi-purpose front light with up to 1000 lumens of output, the Connect Smart 1000XL features a lightweight yet rugged CNC-machined aluminum body with integrated cooling fins. All Lezyne LED-lights run on batteries. They are all rechargeable, some of the batteries are build-in and some can be removed/replaced. All batteries can be bought in the shop. A great use for this is when alternating between steep climbs and descents. While climbing, you'll be traveling at a much slower speed, so it's a great time to conserve battery with the lower setting. When you reach the top and start to descend at a higher speed, you can hit the button once, and switch to the highest output of the light without having to search through all the flashing modes. When it's time to top up, the unit is USB rechargeable via a rubber covered flap at the rear, and a full charge takes around four hours. It's worth noting that the Smart Connect lights don't have mode memory, so when you turn them on they'll always default to program 1. It's best to set that up as the mode you're likely to use most. Front light

The next setting is Blast (500lm/3hrs), then Enduro (250lm/5.5hrs), Economy (150lm/19hrs) and Femto (15ml/87hrs), which finishes off the solid options.

I did find that it moved more than ratcheted fitting systems, however, such as Cateye’s FlexTight, and fittings requiring a hex bolt. Also, unlike those options, the Lezyne doesn’t let you leave the fitting on the bar to remove the light.

The twin MOR (Maximum Optical Reflection) lenses delivered a well-spread beam of light, with sufficient brightness for unlit urban routes, but you’d probably need more oomph for off-road forays. Lezyne KTV Pro 75 rear light Cons: Could do with better mode grouping; I prefer a proper handlebar clamp to keep the light secure The app also gives you a battery readout for each light, but it would be nice if this feature was updated so the information is a little bigger, and more granular: getting useful battery information is a big plus for the app, but the current implementation could be improved.

The light has seven settings and two different modes. The first mode allows you access to all seven settings, which are blast (650 lumens), enduro (450lu), economy (150lu), femto (15lu), flash (150lu), pulse (150lu) and overdrive (1100lu). Race mode lets you toggle just between overdrive and economy. Mode memory remembers whether you're in race mode or standard whenever you next turn the light on, and which setting you were last using – which is useful if you favour one setting in most situations. The button changes colour as your charge runs down, eventually going red when you've got 10% of power remaining. In 99% of cases, you'll get home on red. Charging I didn't use Economy or Femto much, but it is nice to know they are there, should you start to run out of battery. With eight different light modes to choose from, including Blinking light and Continuous light, the Lezyne Lite Drive 1000XL offers flexible options to suit personal preferences and road conditions. It is also lightweight, weighing only 153 g, making it easy to mount and transport.
