Can you tell us more about your decision to reduce the amount of sugar in your mixers in comparison to other brands? Not being on of the largest pubs on the list, it’s not uncommon for the pub to spill out into the Jerusalem Passage, which can often create quite the buzz in the air during sunny and festive periods. What is the inspiration behind this brand-new concept of natural botanicals mixers for Whiskey, Rum and Gin?

And that’s precisely why Pub & Bar has teamed up with some of the brightest and most exciting soft drinks producers in the market, to make these missed sales a thing of the past. From organic energy drinks to botanical tonic replacements (plus one drink that was so new, it arrived quite literally straight from the production line) – a panel of expert buyers from some of the UK’s most esteemed operators tried and tested six drinks in our efficient virtual tasting webinar. However, with huge names like Schweppes and Fever-Tree available, Sekforde had to provide something different. A few months after we launched the whiskey and rum mixers we started getting questions about doing a gin mixer. I’ve never been a tonic fan due to the bitter quinine flavor and we also felt there were already enough great tonics on offer. So, if we were going to look at gin we wanted to do something different that acted as a counter point to tonic. Our gin mixer is much fruitier and floral based around rose, raspberry, rosemary and gentian. It pairs particularly well with lighter gins, often more towards floral, herbal and citrus flavour profiles, but we designed it to work across the spectrum, so any of your favourite London Dry gins will work perfectly. We are focusing on getting Sekforde out there as much as possible, it’s such a new concept, the best way to raise awareness and get people on board is to do tastings and events. When creating your mixers, what trials and errors have you experienced in the process when testing various flavours of mixers?Sekforde differs from other market leaders quite dramatically as the process and mindset behind the products is so different. While still set within the category of drinks mixers, Sekforde breaks new ground as they are designed from the outset as complementary to the spirit, rather than having a set flavour which can be paired to alcohols later. Arriving in June in its top three flavours – Sparkling Rhubarb, Cloudy Apple and Elderflower Lemonade – the fizzy drinks are simply sweetened with pressed fruit.
