About this deal

My review looks at the best and most popular stove fans currently on the market for the winter of 2021, 2033 and going into 2023. I list the features of each model (all very similar to be honest) and explain what it is about them that makes them important and useful. Place the Thermometer on the top, front, or side of a flat or curved surface. The built-in magnet will maintain its hold on steel up to temperatures of around 800°F (425°C). Due to the fact that hot air rises; most of the heat from your stove simply escapes directly above and is lost. That means you aren’t actually feeling the full benefit. Had been researching stove fans for a while, but didn’t jump at buying until I could find one that would fit our stove. This is very compact, and possibly one of the smallest (according to Valiant) on the market right now. Out of the box, there is nothing to set up, just pop it on the stove, and within a few minutes, it will start to spin. If you have not yet got one, I would suggest getting a stove thermometer. The fan itself is not totally quiet, you will hear a whirring noise, especially as it speeds up, but its not annoying. There is a bi-metal device on the bottom to prevent it from overheating, should the surface temperature get too hot. It works by literally lifting the fan up off the hot surface, but I would remove it if the safety device cuts in. Does it work? I think it does. At first, we thought its not pushing out much heat, but it works on movement of air – convection, rather than a force blow like a fan heater. The stove might appear cooler, but the room is definitely warmer, I would say by up to 30% more. For us, that is a huge difference. The optimum effect is reached around 200 – 250 degrees C, but it works at much lower temps. The unit is fairly robust, the fan is well made, if anything the unit could be a little on the light side, but its so compact, this will fit on any stove. Its also something of a talking point, as its a mystery to some how it works. With no batteries! 2 year warranty, which is good, and I think, we’ll be putting less wood on the stove, and that’s what really matters. When you place a stove fan on the flat top of a wood-burning stove, the heat from the stove is conducted to the base of the fan and then up to the underside of the Peltier device in the fan unit.

Stove fans do not work in the same way as cold fans by blowing gusts of air. They instead create a consistent airflow moment which you probably do not feel, but you notice that the room is much more evenly heated. This also means the room heats up in a fraction of the time it would take when not using a stove fan. Can you use a stove fan if you don’t have a flap stove top? The innovative Premium 4 Stove Fan is a uniquely engineered design. Its blades generate up to 70% more airflow than competitor products, giving you maximum benefit, whilst standing at just 199mm tall.

The Voda 6 Blades Heat Powered Stove Fan may be equipped with six blades but it’s just as quiet as the single three-bladed models. Many stove users consider the four-blade models the best choice for large rooms, but this 6-bladed stove fan takes performance to the next level: it distributes 6 cubic metres of air per minute. When compared with a three-blade circulation device, the 6 Blades Stove Fan increases heat distribution by 90%. There’s a general agreement amongst online reviewers that this model puts out more power than a three-blade model but there is some disagreement as to whether it is as powerful as a four-blade fan, which has larger blades. This is why I still think the 4 blade model I use is probably better. The Premium 4 Fan requires no batteries or external power. The heat of the stove top is conducted through the base of the fan and converted to electricity which powers the fan motor. The fan automatically slows and stops as the heat from the stove reduces. Pushes heat outwards to warm a room more efficiently and effectively without any need for batteries or mains Most stove fans need to sit on a flat stovetop that gets hot. So what do you do if you have a sloped top, an irregular surface or a cool surface top that doesn’t get hot?

That’s where the stove fan comes in. A Valiant Heat Powered Stove Fan is an essential tool for ensuring maximum heat is circulated around the room from your Stove or Aga. Despite the four large blades, the Philips screws on the motor mounting can be accessed on the front of the fan. The replacement of any interchangeable parts doesn’t require a great deal of knowledge and experience in such things and can be accomplished by using everyday tools. Most stove fans will start to work at around 50° to 65°C, while the maximum temperature is usually around 340°C. Many stove fans give an optimum operating range that starts 25°C or so higher than the starting temperature. How long is the warranty that the stove fan comes with? The Valiant Premium Stove Fan is the latest (and most deluxe) model of stove fan from Valiant. The company has a long and sterling reputation for making top quality stove fans, and this product is no exception. The Valiant Premium replaces the old Valiant 4-blade fan, which has been discontinued.

Our innovative Premium 4 Stove Fan is a uniquely engineered design. Its blades generate up to 70% more airflow than competitor products, giving you maximum benefit, whilst standing at just 199mm tall. Mechanical damage to the blades can happen if the fan falls. This would cause wobbling and an increase in noise volume. Fortunately, the fan blades can be easily released with an Allen key (not included) and replaced. It’s the best model I found with this feature. I like the high-temperature tolerance of this stove fan (340°C) and the clamp itself can withstand up to 400°C. It starts running at low temperatures and the fans operate virtually silently.
