About this deal

From the creator of viral Tiktok sensation, Mammy Banter , comes a hilarious warts-and-all novel about modern motherhood – and how having it all sometimes isn’t what you think it might be. She used to want it all. I enjoyed this read-no I didn't love it, and it won't become a comfort read, but I very well will most likely pull this out one more time and give it a re-read. The perfect summer beach read. Wasn’t sure about this one at first as I thought it was a little bit typical “mummy diaries” type thing but I’m so glad I persevered because this book gave me SO MANY BELLY LAUGHS 🤣

But behind the skits lies a serious side to Serena Terry, who has drawn upon expert skills in digital marketing to start up her own digital marketing consultancy – using Mammy Banter videos as a case study to attract new clients. I want to say that this book is bad ass but unfortunately here are just a few problems I had with it. Family Mental health advocate Niall Breslin on his new children’s book and the biggest myth about mindfulness 08:00 I think, as a woman, there is always a calamity around the next corner; there is always something that people can relate to. It's brilliant, because when you're not perfect, you've got so much material to work with. How boring would it be, if life was always perfect?"

I suppose I found it more hilarious because it was all relevant to me - I too have 3 children, including a 13 year old and a two toddlers and my god this book just captures what real life is like perfectly. Brilliantly written, very very funny and so relatable! Tara is a bit judgemental at times, judging those that she feels she is being judged by .. I have anxiety myself so I know this feeling 𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙔 well, but she makes a full circle by the end of the book and realises that the person who she thought she had lost was there all along and she was the only one that had been putting herself down (although her bratty teenager didn’t help) and she begins to appreciate those around her for who they are also. Tara has realized that between motherhood and her office job she has all but lost herself some where in between. Can Tara juggle, a teen, two kids under six, her husband, a full-time job and find herself ?

Life changed, you know. That’s part of the deal when we become parents. You put your own needs to one side and focus on what’s important, which is putting those wains of yours front and centre” The chapter titles are also brilliant, for example, ‘That’s not Nutella [on the sofa]!’, ‘I’m not cursing, I’m Praying’ and ‘shove your organic parenting up your hole, Janice’.The eagerly-awaited second novel from 'Mammy Banter' Serena Terry is finally on release". www.derryjournal.com. 2022-11-11 . Retrieved 2022-11-20. Overall, this is one of those novels where you want to keep reading, it makes you smile, laugh, and reminisce about the good ol’ times. A definite book to make your day or week even better. But most of all, she’s going to prove to herself that she can still be a mom, still work full time, and still be Beyoncé… DERRY woman Serena Terry's hilarious Mammy Banter skits may have been viewed and shared by millions of people across the world, but the 36-year-old is keen to drop "truth bombs" into her social media content to remind her followers that "life isn't perfect" and "it's OK to feel insecure at times".

But most of all, she’s going to prove to herself that she can still be a mum, still work full time, and still be Beyoncé…It is the ordinariness of her life — homework, school runs, meal times and fussy eaters — which she managed to capture in her videos in a way that people all over the world found relatable.
