Update September 2021: NEW Agatha Christie video game release for Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. See below for details. Agatha Christie Video Games Most characters are fully voiced, with the actors doing a fine job adding to the distinctiveness of their roles. Cast members have different accents to suit their nationalities, and while I have no fine ear for such things, they all sounded authentic enough to me. The one exception to being fully voiced is Poirot himself. He does speak many of his lines, but anything chosen from dialog trees or conclusions drawn on the Mind Maps are text-only. This wouldn’t be so bad except that the game is rife with typos and punctuation errors. These are unavoidably distracting because subtitles are always shown when any character talks, despite an option in the game settings that is meant to turn them off; I tried several times and it never worked. The game’s trademark mindmaps return allowing you to ese Poirot’s famous little grey cells to build challenging mindmaps and then draw the correct links that can solve the case. a b c d e f g h i j k l Rosemary Young (February 2005). Witnesses and Suspect Interrogations – Solve mysteries and challenge suspects using the new match puzzle system to spot inconsistencies on the spot. After completing the game, the player is given one final puzzle. Completing it shows the original ending of the novel. a b Philip Jong (June 1, 2007). "Scott Nixon". Adventure Classic Gaming. (subscription required) At any given point, there are typically two or three Mind Maps available to work on. There is one for the overall murder, of course, but others become available for lesser mysteries or sub-layers that need to be solved. Some of these are strictly character-oriented, such as verifying the alibis of the partygoers. Other Mind Maps may be focused on recreating aspects of the crime, like when you need to piece together how an intruder could gain access to the manor. Or they may involve the combination of various clues being gathered, as when examining the crime scene and determining which elements are relevant.Description: Adapted from the classic Agatha Christie novel, ‘The ABC Murders’ is an adventure and investigation game, offering sharp-minded gamers the chance to step into the shoes of Hercule Poirot. Join the famous detective as he attempts to unmask the elusive murderer known as “ABC” by solving puzzles, and exploring crime scenes, rendered stylishly in cel-shaded, real-time 3D. Solve mysteries and challenge suspects using the new match puzzle system to spot inconsistencies on the spot. And Then There Were None is set in 1939, taking place at "a beautiful mansion on the deserted Soldier Island." A quote by one of the characters, Emily Brent, in the first chapter sets the month as August ("This same week of August 4 years ago.") The player can explore the two-storey Art Deco-style mansion, which includes a secret room behind a bookcase in the library. The exterior of Soldier Island, including a beach, a forest, and an apiary, may also be explored. Following the game's completion, the player is given one last challenge that will reward them with the original ending to the book, where Wargrave is the killer. Dying, he wants to mete out justice personally to criminals who have escaped punishment, who he has invited to the island. The alternate ending details the events of the book, And Then There Were None, wherein all the guests on the island are killed by Wargrave except for the last two, Vera and Lombard. Vera then shoots Lombard, thinking him the murderer (since Wargrave has faked his own death), and then hangs herself. Wargrave then shoots himself.
