When we give the "Armpit to armpit x 2" on an item it is measured directly at the top of the side seams (armpit to armpit) laid flat, then the measurement is doubled, giving the circumference. I really like Schott as a company, and the products it offers, but this peacoat came up short for me and what I was expecting. One minor point is that this is an 80/20 wool blend, and not 100% Melton wool as I expected from the item description. I feel this is misleading on Schott's part. The overall quality cannot be denied, however.Doctor Who features leather peacoats being worn by the Doctor during his eighth and ninth incarnations.
